So today I purchased a few vintage sewing patterns. Inspiration made its way to me in the form of a character from one of my favorite movies: Miette from The City of Lost Children. Miette’s dress is just ridiculously uber cute in a sort of warped Alice in Wonderland kind of way. The helm of costume designer fell on the head of Jean-Paul Gaultier and there’s this wonderful polish to even the smallest of stylistic elements of all the clothing worn by the key characters. Miette’s outfit has always drawn my eye, so I guess it was only a matter of time before it influenced a pattern purchase or two.
I also got a great deal on a dress form & good grief am I impatient for it to arrive. I just ordered it today for crying out loud and I’m already tempted to do this impatient kind of “pee-pee” dance next to the mail box.
There are a couple other patterns I’m on the hunt for (blouse patterns and such) and any progress will be fully documented here.
Update 3-27-09: Patterns arrived well packaged from site Heaven’s To Betsy! Recommendation report: Highly recommended for your vintage pattern needs. Reasonable prices and quick shipping.
